Saved by Grace – The Power of Unmerited Favor
Saved by Grace – The Power of Unmerited Favor
Introduction: Grace is the heartbeat of the gospel. It is not earned, not deserved, but freely given through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. In a world where everything seems to require performance or payment, God’s grace stands as a divine gift that brings salvation to all who believe.
Main Text: Ephesians 2:8–9
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast."
Sermon Points
- Grace saves us: We were dead in sin, but grace makes us alive in Christ. It's not about our goodness—it's about His mercy.
- Grace transforms us: Grace doesn’t leave us where we are. It reshapes our lives, our thinking, and our actions to reflect Christ.
- Grace sustains us: In times of weakness or failure, it is grace that holds us up and leads us forward.
- Grace glorifies God: Because grace excludes boasting, it keeps our eyes fixed on the One who saved us, not on ourselves.
Application
Are you trying to earn God’s love? Are you still living with guilt over past mistakes? Let go. Receive His grace today—not as a payment, but as a gift. Allow God’s grace to redefine your identity and lead you into deeper purpose.
Prayer
Gracious Father, thank You for saving me by grace through faith. I could never earn Your love, yet You poured it out freely through Jesus. Help me walk in that grace daily—resting in it, rejoicing in it, and reflecting it to others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
